		<description>I agree with you 100% on all items except for &#039;maybe&#039; high grafting but this is aesthetic in argument only from my perspective.  I have been collecting and trying to graft about 100 japanese maples for the past 3 years and have around 20% success now with even some of those dying in year 2 and 3.  I guess as long as I can think of or come up with something new to try next time, I will keep trying to graft them.

Very informative, even for the novice maple tree enthusiasts,
but having grown some 20 varieties over the past 10 years (in containers only)...there was a measurable amout of detail that even I was impressed with.  
I lost my coral bark this past winter (about six feet tall) and now looking for a replacement.  All my maples (some 20 now), were stored along the east side of house then covered with leaves and straw.  I live in zone 6b (north central Arkansas) and have had good success with my beautiful maples.
