Davidsans is also offering for the first time Japanese Maples that are NON GRAFTED and seed grown from SPECIFIC JM MOTHER TREES . These are NOT true cultivars,. They  should not be confused with my grafted trees that have the same name that are actually are true named cultivars.  . I call these seed grown trees Mongrels with Heritage  (MWH) and all of these are identified and labeled with what mother tree they came from . They will be offered in 1 gallon size containers and band pots.

Remember seeds are not true to the mother three and may look like the mother tree or may vary So these can never be called true cultivars… But at the same this is a big plus for finicky bonsai folks who disdain grafted trees no matter how low or good the graft is graft mark . They get a non grafted tree that is from a specific named cultivar. Most all of these MWH’s will develop unique features but the band pots will take a while ( 2-3 years) to develop those .. The one gallons are already showing uniqueness and cultivar traits.

Most other seed grown trees you will find on the web or at nurseries are just common green or red acer palmatum and look boring and mundane. These Mongrel with Heritage JM’s will look really cool, different and often like a true cultivar.  As special note: A good germination rate for straight species seed  the basic A. palmatum as is sold other places as noted above ( mundane JMs) is 80%.  For these mongrels ,  a measly 0-20% germination.  For A. shirasawanum, germination is super low… let’s say 1-3%, and the same goes for A. sieboldianum. So these are truly special… (and why buying seeds of a named cultivar is generally a waist of time and a rip off unless you buy thousands).

These MWH Jms will be offered in 1 gallon containers 18 -24″ tall and in band pots 9-15″ , Price for all 1 gallons will be the same regardless of their mother heritage $28 ea..

Buy 6 or more assorted of these Mongrel one Gallons and your cost is $20 ea.

All band pots will also be priced the same regardless of what named mother tree they came from and will be $15 ea

Buy 10 or more assorted of these mongrel band pots and your price is $12 each.

A minimum of two (2) band pots must be purchased if they are to be shipped by themselves.

Both of these are “stand alone” discounts. Mongrel Band pots cannot be combined with Mongrel one gallons to achieve discounts. And these discounted mongrel trees cannot be combined with other trees to achieve any additional discounts or sale prices offered.

Band pots are obviously much smaller but work great for early training over rocks or with making a bonsai forest . And are great for those that want to start with smaller plants for intimate training all along the tree’s development.

My selection of one gallons is small but I think you will find them  very cool trees .. MY selection of Band Pots is, I think, very nice   .. Limited quantities on all these MWH’s

Finally, I would like to  apologize to all my bonsai friends in advance . I will not take any pictures on any of these pre bonsai trees period there will be no exceptions  .. It is way to much work for inexpensive trees. So please do not ask so I don’t feel bad about it.
