Davidsans does not make money on shipping or packing. It is time consuming and tedious. We do not just slap it in a box ebay style. It does neither of us any good to sell you a boffo tree and have it destroyed with crappy packing and shipping methods.
We do charge a 15$ packing fee since each bosx ias inner crated with 1×2′s for saftey. The one exception is smaller 1 gallon size trees than can go in a 24 or 36″ triangular USPS and shipped USPS. There really is no packing with these small trees and really no room in box for packing materials .But remember that tracking USPS boxes is worthless and since they never pay on insurance it is a bit more dicey.
All trees are shipped semi bare root with nmoisture retaining gel generously applied around sealed root ball .
We are now recieving a good discount from UPS which should help keep ship cost lower for you we are passing this discount along to you in it’s entirety . But in reality there is no inexpensive way to ship larger trees. I strive daily to keep my costs down but not at the expense of the tree getting there in one piece . I guess the fact is ..If you want a larger tree you will have to pay a bit more for the shipping and packing but only at my cost and in reality my packing charge are below cost …considerably. All larger boxes are inner crated braced with 1″x2′” s which is a very time consuming process but one we feel is necessary for saftey of tree.
If you can live with a smaller tree your costs will be considerably less especially in the 2, 3, 5, and 7 gallon sizes. Also always remember shipping more than one tree in a box greatly reduces pr tree ship cost you are basically cost averaging shipping cost . it is often no more to ship two trees and not much more to ship three .

All shipping is by Fed EX home and have tracking #’s exzcept an occasional 1 gal USPS If you have a business we can ship it to, it will save you a few bucks via Fed EX Ground Remember you pay what we pay plus packing … I make NO money on shipping
Davidsans warrants and guarantees all plants will arrive alive and in good condition. If your box has visible damage, do not refuse the package, but make sure you or the the shipper makes a note of the damage before you open it. If you are not there when the package arrives, take a picture of the box damage before opening it. If the tree is not in good condition a dated jpeg is required. If that tree looks bad to us go ahead and plant it anyway if it dies within two weeks we will replace . We cannot guarantee the buyers improper care or weather conditions it encounters during the summer. We are confidant that your tree will arrive in good condition. Minor twigs breaking or other minor scuffs slight leaf curl in hotter weather that have done no real damage to the tree are to be expected. After opening the box, if the plant is severally damaged ( something that we have NEVER has happen), please email us a closeup dated picture of damage to the plant. If we agree that it was in fact damaged beyond what is expected, we will offer a free replacement or a full refund at our discretion. Again We offer no other guarantee since we cannot inspect how you will plant or care for the tree(s) or what weather conditions it encounters after planting. If you have a problem within the firs two weeks after receiving the tree please let us know. Although we cannot guarantee anything we will try to work something out with you. 99.99% of all trees that die after arriving in good condition die as a result of improper care or local weather conditions . These are totally out of control of Davidsans . We hope you understand. We do not have big mark ups on these trees like big box stores and all trees are hand picked by ME ( Davidsan) and inspected before shipping .We pack and ship better them much betterr any other etailer hands down!!! So you will not have problems with any Davidsan trees . All trees are thoroughly inspected by Davidsan personally and are in great condition when they leave … Since 99% of all shipmets take 1-3 days we have little to no problems with any of our trees arriving in great condition. Of the thousands of trees we have shipped only a few dozen have ever had to be replaced or refunded. These are not shit trees purchased at big box stores or crappy end of season trees that are likely doomed from the get go. You are getting larger than normal first class healthy trees that and very special to me they are each my babies.
Davidsans shall be only responsible for refund or replacement of tree as stated in the above guarantee and shall not be responsible for any other damages, actual, punitive or otherwise, to the customer or customer’s property whatsoever, whether or not such are directly or indirectly associated with any sale or purchase from Davidsans.
