Davidsan
This is our namesake tree. It is a chance Atropurpureum seedling (which is the mother tree to many JM cultivars) that really grew on me as it aged!! . It is a very slow grower. the JM is a very open structured tree with an outward horizontal branching structure that is compact and upright. It's amber hairy slightly puffed up leaves are stunning throughout the season with a blaze of crimsom red in fall that is mind boggling .This is a truly special tree that has withstood 20 below temps and the freeze of '06 with no damage whatsoever. The mother tree is 16 years old and about 10' tall . I will have only small size plants of this for several years. If you would like more photos please let me know .Does best with allot of sun and does not generally burn .
