Acer griseum x saccharum Sugarflake

Acer griseum x saccharum Sugarflake

This is one of the best new hybrid trees for northern areas. It has year round exfoliating bark although not as pronounced as Griseum.. and is sun and cold hardy ... and best yet has the best fall red colors of any tree in our nursery .. If you live north this is a must have
This super cool tree has exfoliating bark in winter and spectacular fall color .. it's exfoliation is not as striking as a pure griseum but leaf shape and color is MUCH nicer, lose some winter appeal but really gain big time the rest of the year a great trade off if ya ask me since how often do ya go in your yard in winter?? And much hardier than the pure paper bark maple, A hybrid between a griseum ( paper back maple and a sugar maple) zone 4
This cultivar is no "flake".This is a hardier cultivar than the more common Griseum but exfoliation is a bit more subtle and takes quite a while to show up but the wait is worth it. A super brilliant fall show of color awaits you .. It was among the brightest fall color specimens we had in 2012
