Acer palmatum Chantilly Lace

Acer palmatum Chantilly Lace

You don't need to be an Elvis fan to love this VERY VERY hardy American cultivar ,... It is almost as finely dissected as Red Filigree Lace and it's color all season is phenomenal .. I think it's fall color is among the best of all Dissectum . It may look fragile but it can take some sun, some wetness and cold .It is super tough customer. It seems to be a slow grower as you would expect from such a lacy leaf just as the Red Filigree Lace is. It is in my top 10 fav. Dissectum and until this year I have never seen it available. Vertrees ( or his cohort) says it can have golden yellow fall color which seems a stretch and i have never seen that coloration at any time in this plant. I have grown this now for 6 years in a wet non JM friendly area  it has done fine and never has winter die back in the coldest of winters!!.. and I have  one of the top if not the top of the very fine lace leaf available.. This is a must have if you want a lacy very frilly dissectum  that is not a wimp as some others of this ilk are .. VERY HARDY and HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
